As we go through this life, our desire is, or should be, to please Yahweh, our heavenly father. Adjustments must be made along the way. As we are even now seated in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, our body of this world, corrupted as it is by the sin that contaminated the entire cosmos, is in tug of war with our spirit. It is through prayer and filling our minds with the words of life (The Bible) that we change our point of view to match that of our savior, Jesus Christ, and God Almighty, creator of the heavens and the earth.
